PGA Finalis sutures are synthetic, absorbable, sterile surgical sutures composed of polyglycolic acid (PGA). The empirical formula of the polymer is (C2H2O2)n. The braided sutures are uniformly coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate. PGA sutures comply with European Pharmacopoeia requirements for "Sutures, Sterile, Synthetic, Absorbable, Braided" and US Pharmacopoeia requirements for "Surgical Absorbable Sutures".
